Welcome! We are so excited that you chose FarmRaise as your payroll provider! To get started with FarmRaise Payroll, you’ll need to gather the following materials:
FarmRaise Login Information
Federal EIN (Employer Identification Number)
If you don't have an EIN, here is how to get one.
State Number / Tax Rate / Withholding Percentage
If you don't know this information, find your state in our help articles.
Employees’ Information (Name, Email, Salary, Pay Rate)
Bank Account Number & Routing Number (or your Bank Login Information)
Follow these steps to onboard smoothly:
1. Log Into FarmRaise
Go to app.farmraise.com and log in using your email and password.
You’ll be directed to the dashboard. Select “Payroll” from the top menu.
2. Prepare Required Information
Gather your workers' details: name, email, and pay rate.
Have your Federal EIN, and state/local tax info ready, including withholding ID and tax rate.
If you don't know where your Federal EIN is at, you will need to contact the IRS.
Ensure you have your bank account information (routing number, account number, or login info).
3. Set Up Your Business
Enter your business name and your legal business name associated with your EIN.
Specify whether you're a business or a non-profit.
If your bank account is not linked in FarmRaise Tracks, select the account for recording payroll transactions.
4. Add Employee Information
Start adding workers: include name, phone number, and email.
The email is critical for sending them onboarding details for tax information submission.
Add additional workers as needed.
5. Select Your First Payday
Choose your first payday with FarmRaise. You can adjust this date later if needed.
If you have already filed payroll for this year, you will not be able to go any further as we will need additional information from you!
6. Enter Work Locations
Input the street address where your team works. Add all locations, especially if team members work in different counties or states, as tax rates may vary.
7. Create Pay Groups
Set up pay groups for different pay rates or frequencies (e.g., monthly for salaried employees, bi-weekly for hourly).
Save the groups as default for each employee as needed.
8. Classify Employees and Contractors
Determine whether each worker is an employee or contractor (1099). If unsure, check available articles for guidance.
9. Complete Employee Setup
Finish employee setup by selecting eligibility for overtime, hire date, and pay group.
Enter pay type (salaried or hourly) and annual salary for salaried employees.
10. Enter Tax Information
Input your default filing information (Federal EIN and state tax details).
11. Link Your Bank Account
Enter your routing number and account number or link via Plaid for immediate connection.

12. Authorize Payroll Documents
Sign the document authorizing Salsa, FarmRaise’s payroll partner, to file your payroll tax documents on your behalf.
13. Verify Bank Information (ONLY If You Manually Added Bank Account)
If you used your bank account and routing number, verify the micro-deposits made into your account within 1-2 business days.
