If you’ve already been paying payroll throughout the year and are now switching to FarmRaise Payroll, we’ve got a simple process to help you move your information over. Our payroll partner, Salsa, will handle most of the technical work, so you can focus on your farm or ranch.
Here’s how the payroll migration process works:
Step 1: Tell Us About Your Existing Payroll
During onboarding, let us know if you’ve already paid payroll this year. We’ll also ask how you’ve been doing payroll so far (whether it's through an accountant, a software program, or another method).
Step 2: Upload Your Payroll Reports
FarmRaise will guide you to upload your past payroll reports in the “Documents” section of the FarmRaise payroll dashboard. This is where we’ll gather everything we need to transfer your existing payroll details into our system.
Step 3: FarmRaise and Salsa Start the Migration
Once your documents are uploaded, FarmRaise will notify our payroll partner, Salsa, and get the migration process going. Salsa’s team will review your reports and let us know if they need any extra details from you.
Step 4: Adding Workers, Pay Types, and Benefits
FarmRaise will ensure that all the workers you’ve paid this year are added to your profile, even if they’re no longer active.
Any custom pay types, deductions, or benefits you’ve been using will also be included in the setup.
Step 5: Salsa Reviews and Imports Your Data
Salsa will carefully check all the information and then import it into their system.
They’ll also let us know if there are any unpaid tax liabilities and how much will need to be paid to the tax agencies.
Step 6: Handling Any Issues
If anything’s missing or needs correction, we’ll get in touch with you to gather the necessary information.
Step 7: Confirmation
Once everything is in place, you’ll be all set to run your payroll through FarmRaise Payroll.
It’s that easy! We know you’ve got enough to do, so we’ll handle the hard stuff behind the scenes to make sure your payroll is set up and running smoothly.
