If you are interested in using our bulk import tool to bring in your past transactions from your bank statements, other account software, or your homegrown spreadsheets, you can easily complete this in the app!
This article will walk you through the steps, and there is also a video to guide you.
Steps to Upload Your Data
Navigate to the Upload Section
Log in to your FarmRaise account.
From the left-hand menu, select Tracks at the top.
Scroll down to the bottom of the left-hand menu.
Click on Upload Your Data, which appears as a small rectangle with an upward-pointing arrow.
Prepare Your File
Ensure your file is in CSV format.
If you’re uploading multiple months of transactions, upload one file at a time, or combine them into a single spreadsheet if that’s easier for you.
Remove any unnecessary headers from your file before uploading.
Upload Your File
Click the upload rectangle and choose your file from your computer.
Assign the correct columns in the system:
Vendor Name: Typically the description or name of the transaction.
Transaction Date: Select the column with the dates of the transactions.
Income and Expenses:
If your file has a single column where income is positive and expenses are negative, map it accordingly.
If you have separate columns, map one for income and one for expenses.
Choose the Account
Assign the transactions to an existing account (e.g., your farm’s checking account).
If you’re uploading data for a linked account, ensure you’re not duplicating transactions.
Wait for Processing
Large files may take a few minutes to process, especially if they contain hundreds or thousands of transactions.
If the process seems to stall, refresh your page or restart the upload. If issues persist, reach out to the Farmer Success Team.
Categorize Your Transactions
Once the upload is complete, you’ll have the option to categorize your transactions immediately or do it later.
Choose from Schedule F categories, your personal categories, or custom product categories.
Pro Tip: To avoid recategorizing transactions you’ve already worked on:
Categorize one transaction and save it.
Click Select All, then immediately uncheck it. This ensures no transactions are accidentally selected for further categorization.
Review Duplicates
The system will flag any potential duplicates for your review.
Confirm whether flagged items are true duplicates or unique transactions.
Final Steps and Tips
After categorizing your transactions, head back to the Tracks homepage to review and verify everything.
If some transactions remain uncategorized, you can revisit them later.
Patience Tip: Uploading a full year’s worth of transactions takes time—grab a coffee while the system processes your data!
