When you create a new expense, you can tag it with a 'Product', but what does that mean? A 'Product' is any product, service, or project that makes you money on your farm. Here are a few examples:
Farm Products: Tag an expense with 'Spring Cattle' to see how much you spend on your spring herd, 'CY 2022 Soybeans' to find out how much you spend in crop year 2022 on soybeans, or even use a 'Candles' tag to track spending on the candles you sell.
Farm Services: Tag expenses with services such as 'Airbnb' or 'Riding Lessons' to track how much you spend to provide these services.
Farm Projects: Tag an expense with 'Barn' or 'Greenhouse' to track how much you spend on a farm improvement project.
'Product' Tips and Tricks
Split an expense to be able to tag a receipt with multiple products. Maybe you spent $40 at TSC on fertilizer and want to tag $30 as expenses for your corn, and $10 as expenses for your strawberries. Splitting an expense is a great way to use multiple 'Product' tags! Learn more about split expenses here.
