To upload your bank transactions into FarmRaise Tracks, you'll need to download your bank statement as a CSV file. PDFs, Excel files (.xls or .xlsx), and Apple Numbers documents (.numbers) will not work.
To ensure successful uploads, your CSV file must meet specific formatting criteria. The first row of the CSV should contain column headers such as Date, Vendor Name, and Amount. This ensures that FarmRaise can correctly parse and organize your transaction data.
Steps to Download a CSV Bank Statement
Log in to your online banking account on a desktop computer. Many banks do not allow CSV downloads from their mobile apps.
Locate your transaction history or account statement section. This is often under "Accounts," "Transactions," or "Statements."
Look for an export/download option and choose CSV as the file format. Some banks may label this as:
"Download as CSV"
"Export Transactions"
"Download Banking Activity"
Save the CSV file to your computer. Ensure it is in a
.csvformat before uploading it to FarmRaise Tracks.
What if My Bank Doesn’t Provide CSV Downloads?
If your bank does not offer a CSV export option, contact your local bank branch. Most banks can provide this file type upon request.
If you have it in an Excel File, please see our article on how to export it as a CSV file.
Some banks may allow you to manually select transactions and export them as a CSV instead of downloading an entire statement.
If PDFs are your only option, you will need to manually enter the transactions into FarmRaise.

Tips for Preparing CSV Files
Double-check that the headers are spelled correctly and align with the expected format (e.g., "Date" and not "Transaction Date").
Make sure all data entries are in the correct date, text, or numeric formats.
Troubleshooting Upload Challenges
If you face challenges during the upload, follow these steps:
Verify that your file is in CSV format.
Confirm that the first row includes the required headers.
Ensure all data entries are free from formatting errors or blank fields.
If issues persist, consider reaching out to FarmRaise support for further assistance.
