Getting your workers set up in FarmRaise Payroll is quick and easy when you’ve got the right information on hand. Whether you're hiring new employees or switching to FarmRaise mid-year, here’s what you’ll need to get started.

Three Ways to Onboard Workers

You can onboard employees in one of these three ways:

  1. Send them an onboarding email

Your worker will receive a secure email to enter their own information, including direct deposit details.

  2. Fill it out together

Sit down with your worker and complete the onboarding process side by side.

  3. Use your existing records (mid-year switch)

If you're moving to FarmRaise Payroll partway through the year, you likely already have most of their information from W-4s and other tax forms. All your worker will need to do is add their direct deposit details from the email we send.

What You’ll Need for Each Employee

Be prepared to provide the following information for each worker you’re paying through FarmRaise:

1. Personal Details

  • Full Legal Name

  • Social Security Number (SSN)

  • Home Address

  • Email Address (so we can send them a secure link to enter their direct deposit info)

2. Job Information

  • Hire Date

  • Wage Type (Hourly or Salary)

  • Pay Rate (e.g., $15/hour or $3,500/month)

3. Compensation & Deductions

  • Benefits (such as health insurance or retirement contributions)

  • Deductions (for uniforms, housing, or advances)

4. Bank Details

  • Direct Deposit Information (can be added by the employee through their onboarding email)

Why This Matters

The more complete your information is, the faster we can get your team set up and running. Missing details can slow down payroll processing and delay payments to your workers. Let's get it right the first time!
